A chilling wind sent dust roiling over the barely disturbed depths of the stagnant dam, the stench of death and decay reaching even the highest of the pillars that surrounded it. A grunt forced itself from his lips as he covered his mouth, eyes narrowed in disgust as the angel surveyed the surrounding area from his perch atop one of the columns, legs dangling over the edge and dark, cobalt wings fanned out behind him. He brushed his tongue over his teeth, tasting the bitter smell of the water before tilting his head to spit over the side, stormy grey eyes watching as, once again, the dam remained undisturbed.
He hated it here. Despised it, even. What was the use of sending him, Aries, to some long forgotten water source that reeked of death and looked like, well, absolute shit? Seriously? Running a hand through cropped black hair, he sighed and pursed his lips, stretching his wings out as he leaned, almost precariously, off the edge. Nothing ever happened here, the Zukai hadn't shown themselves, and the only other sign of life was a brief glimpse of white wings against the dead grass below which he'd written off as a trick of the light and nothing more. No, nothing ever happened and was never going to happen. That was the end of it.
Aries turned to glance back over his shoulder, ears giving the slightest of twitches as he searched for his team mates. That was another thing - he'd never had the 'pleasure' of meeting his team before now, knew nothing besides their names (Haru, Roxy and Axis, apparently) and a vague description of each. Cos, heck, if the Zukai did come screaming over here, he had to be sure not to attack his own teammates, right?
“Bunch of faggots haven’t even shown their faces yet…” The angel sneered, lips curled into a tight little smirk of disgust as he spat again, starting to lean back and settle himself again when he suddenly tensed, muscles flexing under tanned skin as a shape appeared by the waters edge.
That wasn’t one of his fucking teammates. No way in hell.
Oh man did he hate being in charge of this mission. Hated it with a freaking passion. Why the dam, huh? Why not…the ocean? Or the stadium? The fucking sewers even?!
Aiden growled softly, a rumbling sound that tore from his throat as he dropped the blade of dead grass he’d been chewing on and stamping it into the dry earth, watching with contempt as a plume of dust coiled from under the toe of his boot. Bat-like wings curled into his shoulders, tucked tightly against his spine, his spade-ended tail twitching lightly in agitation. “The fuck would the Laos want with the dam, anyway?” He murmured to himself, nostrils flaring as the sickening smell reached him, forcing himself not to gag. “This place is fucked over, anyway. Always has been.” Honestly, he just didn’t want to be here simply because of his fear of water. Yeah, that was it, one of the toughest, baddest, most dangerous Zukai on the whole damn planet couldn’t swim. Like, at all. He had the buoyancy of a bird tied to a brick, and just having his head submerged was enough to make him flip out. But he wasn’t going to drown, was he? No, this was a simple, safe mission. He was in charge of a…well he wouldn’t call them trustworthy. Claw was a bitch, as per usual, and Lucifer did pretty much whatever she told him to. Then there was Mia – that new kid who knew shit all about how their world worked. What the hell was he going to do? Pull the cute factor and ‘daw’ them into submission? Yeah, if that worked, he’d be more than happy to be the kid’s bitch. The incubus snorted, his teeth bared in an amused smirk as he treaded closer to the edge, staring into the water at a reflection so dark and obscured he couldn’t tell if it was even his. “Christ, this place is a fucking hole.”
“Yeah, you’re telling me.” And, before he knew it, the battle had started. Aiden turned quickly, kicking off the ground and bounding back a step or two, just enough for Aries to land not on top of him but where he had been but a moment ago, knives poised at where the demon’s neck had been. The Lao angel turned, charging forwards to punch Aiden in the gut, only to have his arm wrenched back and over the other’s shoulders, landing on his back in the dirt. Aries rolled backwards, managing to swing his leg high enough to kick Aiden in the jaw and send the Zukaian stumbling into the shallows, where he summoned his own weapon, a pair of hookswords, and took to the air. “Cat and mouse huh?” Aries jeered, watching Aiden as he hissed, drawing blood away from his lip with a clenched fist. “I always did like that game.” The angel purred, before he too beat his wings and rose to the sky, the pair of dark winged duellers beginning what was to be but the first of many conflicts in the future, awaiting their teammates to join them in battle.

There was a dull clomping "THUD" as a green armour clad figure landed several meters away from the rising duelists, arms outstretched behind him. Small pieces of his mechanical suit shifted and pulsed. He glanced up quickly, as the black and white winged figures ascended, and flicking his arms in and out in judo like fashion, closed his eyes and stood up slowly. The sight of the two reminded him of past battles of his own, and he was startled from his trance at the sound of two blades clashing. He looked up again, and his visor's HUD registered the two, scanning weaponry, physical traits, movements, and protective armour for each. The visor told him there was an unknown factor, an unregistered, unidentifiable addition to both opponents that the suit could not measure or calculate. This, Axis guessed, was the beings' mystical energy, something the mechanical learning organics of his suit could not comprehend. He seemed to smile, giving a small sniff of laughter at his own tiny, private joke. It had been fairly hard to laugh recently. He also knew that the concentrated energy burst Xilium bolts of his normal pistols would struggle to break through the magical defense. He blinked, his thoughts returning to his current situation. His visor showed the white being surrounded by a light green aura, the dark one in red, colours indicating his allies and potential threats. The suit flashed a small message. It recommended a power increase. He clenched his fists, lifting slightly off the ground, curling up slightly, as a green pulse grew around him. The pulse suddenly released in a burst, a wave of energy rippling the air, and Axis pushed out his chest, releasing excess power. He remained aloft, but his armour had undergone a slight change. A green fabric belt spat now flowed from his waist, and a belt of ammunition hung diagonally from the left of his belt. The armour was slightly darker, his shoulder pads larger, and his holsters and their subsequent weapons much bigger. The armour also had a faint green aura surrounding it, just barely visible in the light. Axis was ready now. He looked towards the dark shape, and slowly, the thrusters on the back of his suit springing to life, began to rise towards them. He ignored the suit's calculations, and, moving quickly now, sped towards the fighting figures. He brought himself just within accurate firing distance, letting the suit target with pinpoint accuracy, displaying distance, most probable predicted target trajectory, and various other factors. He thought of warning his ally, but knew that this was what the force, and he along with it, had been sent for. The battle was already in progress. He drew both pistols now, large weapons, a single pistol alone would have been dangerous, let alone both. He took aim without the suit's assistance, and fired a volley at the dark figure. [red]So the fighting has already started? That's no suprise.[/red] Roxy sat on a nearby stone, watching the action take place in front of her. As much as she would have loved to start something with Aiden, the sane side of her kept her away. She knew she wasn't any match for a fire demon like Aiden, especially since she had recently started getting the hang of shapeshifting.
Fighting Aiden would be like commiting suicide, so she merely watched, waiting for the moment that she might be needed. Might
Aries was a very experienced fighter from the looks of it, and it appeared that he would be able to keep Aiden in check for a while before he needed any real help, but Roxy really wanted someone to fight, she didn't want to just stand on the sidelines and wait helplessly like some child. So she got herself up and started scanning the area. She couldn't help but notice Axis in the area where said Angel and Demon were fighting it out; however she stayed out of his way.
She knew what a guy like him would do to anyone who tried to interupt his missions, and sometime found herself feeling sorry for the person who unleashed Axis's rage.
With some effort, she changed herself into her smaller, less suspicious raccoon form and started searching for any Zukai she could get her eyes on. She would have turned into her hawk form, but she didn't want to get caught up in the fued between Aiden and Aries and indefinately end up getting herself killed. Her claws remained unsheathed and hear ears were erect so she'd be able to act fast if anyone suspicious came near her. She gave a small jump, suprised from the sudden gunshot, but quickly calmed down when she noticed that it was Axis who made the shot. [red]Who knows what that guy is thinking of now..?[/red]
Giving her ear a slight twitch, she continued her search.
OOC: Sorry for the fail reply, but I had to enter her some way ^^;

Mia wandered through debris, careful not to get his pants soaked in the awful smelling gunk. He glanced up at the air, listening to the sounds of battle. He had gotten lost while coming here, and without an escort, his naturally awful sense of direction took lead.
Mia hopped down from a mossy covered stone and landed on a slippery rock, nearly losing his balance and slipping into the shallows of the dam. He caught his balance and carefully made his way toward the solid ground shore.
He dusted off his light colored jacket (which would be easy to spot from afar) with his sleeves and patted his waist, making sure his weapons where secure and in place. His blades and a pistol. Also patting his legs, making sure the knives hidden at his calve are secure.
He stood upright and tugged at his gloves through the sleeve. This being his first mission for the Zukai, he had to work to earn their trust. As for his mission as a spy, it was kept under keeps, so that any spies in Lao wouldn’t leak the information back to Zukai and get the assassin in trouble.
Looking up as loud gunfire rang through the air, he blinked and stumbled in that direction. From what he knew, his so called “team-mates” didn’t have heavy artillery like that. He brushed past the bushes, slowly and unintentionally making his way toward Roxy.

Roxy quickly turned her head in Mia's direction and tilted her head. [red]Isn't this kid a little too young to be in the Zukai?[/red] From the looks of him and his actions, Mia appeared pretty dainty to Roxy's eyes. However, she learned not to judge an enemy by their looks, because it could ultimately lead to her downfall. She felt the fur begin to rise on her back, but she forced it back down.
She had to remain unnoticed for just a little longer before she made her move.
She sheathed her claws for just a moment so that her paws wouldn't make so much as a sound as she started her move. Staying close to the ground, she attempted to get behind Mia, but it was proving to be harder than she thought, having to manuver the debris scattered along the ground. She had to force herself not to growl in frustration. The rocks and the horrible smelling gunk on the ground wasn't helping cool her temper either.
She hated these kinds of places. She really did.
Roxy gave a suprised yelp when she tripped on a pice of debris, increasing her hatred of destroyed places. She knew she made a huge mistake; her cover was blown. Her ears flattened against her head and her tail gave a lash as she turned towards Mia once again, hoping that Mia hadn't noticed her slip up.

Another day, another mission. Claw mused to herself, following the incubus she reluctantly called her leader without so much as a gander in his general direction. After the night before, she didn't want to be near him at all, but she was already in this mission and she wouldn't allow herself to back down just because he was here- that was like letting him win, which was against her personal set of rules alongside '220°; the perfect cooking temperature'. Even if he witnessed the rare sight of Claw's kind side come out the night before in her half-drunken delight, she couldn't let his presence affect her performance in a mission. She wanted to be promoted, for cripes sake, why fuck it up that way? But last night... Shaking her head to rid herself of the burdening and incredibly blurry, random bits of memories of an awkward evening and morning hangover, she refocused on what she was doing now in this damp environment. Tracking- or at least an attempt. The succubus' nose wrinkled as she tried to pick up scent besides that of the foul odor rising from the surface of the water, or rather, muck, as she couldn't consider that substance a liquid even, considering it was probably thicker than her ego.
Claw's irritation shifted as Aiden spoke, and she decided to instead direct all of it on him. Sighing, she replied, "That's like asking why we want it, Scott. The more land, the more power is one way to look at it. Another way is this; we have it, they don't. Children often take things they want form other children, right? It's like that." she tried to explain, but her head was still in a mess form the night before. Her demon pet, Momo, made a small churr? in her ear, rubbing his black fluff ion her cheek. "Nothing." she replied, able to understand his concern.
As a matter of fact, it was a lot of things. Besides last night, her team only had one person she enjoyed, who was Lucifer (if you counted Momo and her weapon out). Aiden Scott was her roommate and the bane of her existence. Honestly, it seemed that if they weren't at each other's throats, they were planning on when to slit it, or were just off binge drinking. Now they had to fight on the same team? Hell might as well open up and swallow her back into it's fiery abyss now. And the other kid- some nublet- looked squishier than a wad of jello. He had a chick's name, too. She could swear that if this were the human realm, he'd either be bullied, or adored by girls everywhere. Either way, Claw wanted to pop his head like a zit.
Aiden spoke and she stopped wondering about what was actually inside of Mia's skull, and instead thought about why Aiden just seemed to notice that about this area. Then, she finally got a scent.
"Too fuckin' late." she muttered to herself.
Whipping around, the succubus faced yet another bitch she'd rather not deal with. "Would ya lookie here. Came straight to us like a dog." she mumbled. Ironic, considering she was a mutt demon, her brown ears and tail flicking as she chuckled. She grinned, displaying her glimmering white teeth as her emerald eyes narrowed, making herself look almost catlike. She flipped backward aways, mumbling something to herself while the angel and the group's leader went at it. "Momo. Wings." she commanded, summoning Repentance and letting the scythe cry out in merriment over the fresh sight of battle. "Eager to taste blood, I see." the succubus chuckled, gripping the shaft in her left hand, her leather gloves making noise as it rubbed against the bone of the scythe. "Soon enough, soon enough. We need a target to play with." she murmured, taking off into the sky as Momo grew into a pair of large black wings.
Well, there were a few pickings left, she supposed. That sonavabitch roommate could have the birdie, for all she cared. So long as she got her own fun toy to play with, she'd be satisfied. Scuriiiii? Crowed Repentance hungrily. Claw laughed in response, heartily with amusement. "Oh, don't give me that! There's lots of fun here!" They just needed to find it, or let it find them. She'd be happy, either way.

His footsteps faltered, hears picking up the yelp of the racoon. Quickly turning around, not comfortable with having someone behind his back, he looked down and glimpsed at the creature. Staring a moment, quickly suspecting Roxy to be a Laos shape shifter, the urge to make a comment about how cute she looked slipped his lips. “Awl!” He immediately froze a second after, feeling incredibly stupid once he said that. ‘Old damn habits’. He muttered mentally to himself. To tell you the truth, though Mia has been told to take this mission seriously, the boy can’t help but be his normal self sometimes. Though he finds being /extra/ cute was a bit annoying. Knowing that he couldn’t take back what he had just said, he had to back it up. Hopping down to where Roxy is, he stopped a good 5 ft away before squatting down on a dry piece of land, and offers his hand as if to call a cat over so he could pet it. “I didn’t know this place had raccoons~” He cooed. His other hand rested on his thigh, ready to snatch up the knives underneath his jacket if he must, knowing she had the chance to strike at him if she wanted. Living a life of acting made his act very convincing, keeping his rather innocent looking expression.

A series of alerts finally broke Axis' miutely building frustration. His other volley simply dissipated on contact with his target, who barely even seemed to notice his presence and continued thier endeavor. He silently cursed himself for not getting more of his strength back before the mission, and spun both pistols as he pushed them back into their holsters and drifted away. "Had to try and help fight the leader, didn't you..." Dashing quickly, he flew far out of reach of the two powerful fighters, and braked to a stop, scanning the dusty, ruined surrounding area quickly for signs of enemy activity. His sensors showed several different lifeforms, and the the beeping alerts finally stopped as his eyes settled on a figure soaring a short distance away from him, holding a scythe, and his visor registered visual confirmation with a winged female demon. Not wanting to make the same mistake again, he accessed several information ports and performed a hi-speed search, finding nothing but a few small pieces of information that resembled the dangerous looking succubus in front of him. No name, simply species, allegiance, and her rank. he noted her high position and prepared himself for a confrontation, as he began changing the Omnisuit to it's base form, and boosted towards her, gaining quickly. He'd never fought a scythe-wielding opponent before. He closed his eyes momentarily as he felt the energy around him alter his suit. The aura swirled a deep blue, and his armour slowly began to change into its normal dark blue-indigo colour. The ammo belt disappeared, forming into a sheath on his back, and the pistols morphed together and took a pointed shape. The suit completed transforming, and a blue pulse of energy sent him surging forward.
Much closer now, he sped towards the demon, his thrusters emitting a low roar as he flew. He was never one for sneak attacks. Reaching up to his back, The Omniblade thrummed to life as he unsheathed it, a long, wide sword, and he twirled it twice in his left hand, keeping his pace and holding it in reverse as he prepared for a nagasakistiktame strike.

[red]Damn rocks...why do we even need this godforsaken place anyway?![/red] Roxy was at the very edge of losing her cool. She rose into a standing position and shook off any gunk she may have picked up when she tripped. She hated the predicament she was in, she hated the place she was in, and she hated the person she was stuck with. His staring at her brought her back into reality. She hoped that maybe he didn't get the idea that she was a shapeshifter; that maybe she still had a chance to make her move.
"Awl!" Her ears flicked at the comment and her temper rose again. Although she was partially convinced that he didn't know who-or what-she was, she absolutely despised being treated as some kind of animal...even though she technically was an animal at the moment. She backed away a few steps as soon at Mia got a little too close for comfort. Then, as if adding insult to injury, he squatted down and gave a gesture similar to that of someone calling over a stray puppy.
“I didn’t know this place had raccoons~” She looked straight at the boy, both angry and embarrassed at his gesture towards her. Part of her told her to lunge right at him no questions asked. That'd teach him not to act like that towards her in such a way again, but she quickly shook that idea out of her head. If he was Zukai, he'd most definately have weapons on him, even though she couldn't see any of them at the moment, and if he did have weapons, she'd be setting herself up with a one-way ticket with the edge of a knife of the wrong end of a gun. Instead, she decided to play along and do what he wanted. She tilted her head in fake curiosity and started making her way towards Mia.

Mia continued to hold his hand out to the raccoon, though his other hand tensed, ready to snatch his weapon if Roxy tried anything. In his mind he scolded himself to calm down, before he gets caught. He noted her fake curiosity, slightly doubting his assumption that she was a Laos’s soldier, but the thought remained firm. It couldn’t hurt to stay cautious. And besides, Mia didn’t want to hurt anyone unless he was forced to. He could just hear /her/ now. ‘You’ve gotten soft, Mia~ Have you been hanging around those idiots again?’ She would always find a way to pick on Mia, but he thought he knew her intentions; she didn’t want him getting himself killed while on this mission, so she tried to make sure he wouldn’t “soften” up.
Mia never could tell when he softened up to other people, it just happens. He could never get himself to hate another living creature without a reason, and when he did, guilt usually weighed him down if he actually hurt anyone’s feelings. Mia looked like he zoned out for a moment, thinking about the difference between “dislike” and “hate”, a discussion he had with himself many fruitless times before. Mia quickly reminded himself that this was an important mission, and quickly pushed those thoughts out of his head. He needed to focus, or get killed by not doing so. He made sure not to move much, so that he wouldn’t “scare her off”. But really, he just didn’t want to provoke her into attacking, and having him battle his own comrade. That would be a pain.

Oh thank god, there were other people on his team! Halle-fucking-luiah! Aiden smirked, nostrils flaring as he cast a quick glance backwards towards Claw. Who was flying around. Doing nothing.
Oh for fuck’s sake.
The incubus growled, lowering his eyes as he spotted Mia on the ground below, crouched beside a- a-… A lao-thing. Racoon? Let’s go with that.
“Yo, fluffy!” Aiden yowled, eyes narrowed to dangerous slits as he gave Mia a look so potent he probably should’ve been on his back twitching by now. “How about you try beating the shit out of it rather than sitting and petting it?! This is a fucking war, man!” He snapped, grunting as he drew up his weapons to parry an oncoming stab from Aries before turning and delivering a sharp kick to the angel’s side, sending him spiralling away. “Or has your cutesy little brain already forgotten that?!” He finished, grinding his teeth before clambering up the pillar closest to him, glaring out over the dam-turned-battlefield.
As far as he could see, there were two and a half fighters for Zukai, two for Lao, a relatively even fight. Mia (the half, if you hadn’t guessed by now) was playing paddy-cake with that fluffy rat thing, Claw was now busy fighting the spaceman (whether she wanted to or not) and he was fighting that stupid-
…Wait, where the fuck did Aries go?!
Before he could announce his question aloud, Aiden yowled in pain as the knife of his opponent dug into his shoulder, right alongside the joint to his right wing. With a furious snarl he stepped back, wrenching his fist around to punch the other in the face, smirking with satisfaction at the sicking crack that followed. Now, his wing dragging limply at his side, the incubus raised his hookswords and charged, stabbing for the other’s torso and stomach. There was a sparse, breathless chuckle from Aries as the demon’s blades hit their marks, trembled, and finally slipped off the armour across his chest, armour Aiden hadn’t seen, hadn’t calculated, giving the Lao officer the upper hand.
Well shit, that was a major fuck up on his part.
From below, no one would be able to see the struggle that followed, but it wasn’t long before both winged warriors plunged off the lip of the pillar towards the water below, a flurry of black and white uniforms undistinguishable from one another before finally hitting the shallows on the south side of the dam, far from the battle waging on the opposite side. Aiden gasped, every bone and muscle screaming in torment, the breath knocked out of him from the impact of landing on his back with that mother fucking angel perched on top of him. Any human would have been dead by now, any human would be a puddle of blood settling into the foul water, but not him. His wings were definitely broken, twitching and fluttering uselessly as he struggled against the knee pinning him down, nails digging into Aries’ leg as he snarled and wriggled in vain.
“You know…” Aries purred, his lips twisted into a smug smirk as he leaned down, palm against Aiden’s forehead in almost an affectionate, friendly manner. “There’s nothing I enjoy more than seeing you Zukai struggle in the grime like the pathetic worms you are.” He chuckled, his head tilted to the side as he studied him, calculated, as if waiting to see what Aiden would do.
But there was nothing, nothing at all the other could do. He was trapped, his wings were screwed up, and he couldn’t seem to get enough air in his lungs to sustain himself. The only plus side to his situation would have to be that he landed in the shallows, that he wasn’t drowning. Aiden grinned despite himself, almost triumphant of that small fact. But it faded almost instantly as Aries smiled back, and the pressure against his forehead doubled, forcing his head backwards and down.
“Goodbye, demon.” Aries hummed, still grinning that cheerful, manic smile as he forced Aiden’s head under the water and held it there, waiting to see how long it took until he started to panic.
About three seconds, apparently.
[/blockquote] [XD; Sorry for the wait and for the shitty reply- uhm, don't worry about helping Aids out. I has a plan. Feel free to interact if you want, but you don't really have to.]

Roxy gave an annoyed snort after hearing Aiden's little rant to Mia. She hated this guy's attitude, but she couldn't help but agree with him. She figured that Mia knew she was some kind of threat, however he hadn't done anything to her...yet. At first she figured it was his naivety and stupidity, but now she was starting to get second thoughts. If this guy was acting, then surely he could tell through any act she tried to play, right? Now was the time to actually begin what she came here to do in the first place.
She went back a few paces and stopped by a large rock-at least one large enough to sit on. After jumping onto the rock, she took a seat and sat for a moment, not facing the boy behind. She gave a sigh and reverted back to her original self.
[red]"Y'know, your...ally there is right,"[/red] Roxy said, still not facing Mia. She stood up and took her lock necklace off, placing it in her pocket. Didn't want that getting in the way.[red]"You should've attacked me when you had the chance, but you didn't. Not like that matters."[/red] She placed a hand over her side, making sure her knife was easily accessible. Naturally, she had more than one weapon, but the knife was the easiest one to get if Mia tried to pull a fast one. She stood up and faced Mia, her eyes flashing momentarily. However, she wasn't the type to start a fight when the guy's guard was down, especially when he knew she was there. Noncaring or not, she wasn't rude.
[red]"I'm ready to start whenever you are."[/red]
OOC: Yeah... another post. By the way, LOL at part of the news.

Mia looked up to Aiden, listening to the harsh words escaping his lips. Mia grumbled slightly, not at all respecting the sour tone from the incubus. When he had first heard of him, Mia thought it would be nice meeting a man who had the guts to moon a Lao's patrol. Now that he's actually met the guy, he lost all respect for the leader of this mission.
Insults wasn't going to get him anywhere.
Mia averted his eyes to the shapeshifter infront of him. He watched her as she reverted back into her original form, her hand to her side.
"Y'know, your...ally there is right," "You should've attacked me when you had the chance, but you didn't. Not like that matters."
Mia just smiled lightly.
" If I did attack you, I wouldn't of have seen the nicer side of you, ma'dam, even if it was just an act. And besides, I don't like hurting pretty women, like you." Mia made no attempt to hide the fact that he did suspect her for being a member of the mission. Might as well forget what side he's on and just fight without the intention to kill. Yeah, that seemed easy enough, let's go with that.
And the comment about her appearance was true. She did look pretty to him. But he didn't say it in a way like he was flirting. He didn't mean to flirt, he was just voicing his opinion.
"I'm ready to start whenever you are."
" Ready as I'll evey be~ " And with that, Mia made his move.
With a single step toward the ledge, he launched himself off of the piece of debris he had been standing on, releasing the hidden wrist blades. The blade pierced easily through the fabric of his gloves and jacket, glinting in the sun in the moment he had it drawn. But if Mia lets go of the button on his wrists, the blades would retract themselves in their placed spot underneath his gloves.
Mia had already tried preparing himself for an offensive or defensive move, and he had already guessed this attack will not connect with his "foe". One, because he alerted her, and Two, because he didn't think anyone on Lao would've send a weak soldier on this mission.
In the few seconds this was happening, Mia retained a small, calm smile.
(OMFG D:<;; -had to redo the last part about 4 times- Plus I was bored when I drew the picture. -wanted to practice on perspective-)

Roxy jumped back, avoiding Mia's attack with ease. She was somewhat impressed with his gear. [red]Maybe I could find something like that for myself...[/red] Her thoughts were interupted when she landed in some of the nasty smelling gunk that she saw on the ground before. She scolded herself mentally for not looking before she landed. [red]So much for staying clean...[/red] Ignoring the nasty gunk that was now on her, she pulled out two of her own knives in order to even things up.
She walked to a dry piece of land, laughing softly,[red]"Me? Nice? You obviously don't know me all that well."[/red] Mia's other compliment wasn't unnoticed; Roxy knew he wasn't flirting, she could tell by his tone of voice. She simply decided to ignore it for the time being. She wasn't exactly used to getting compliments from opponents.
Just as soon as she reached dry land she made her move. Moving as swiftly as possible, she lunged at Mia. However she didn't want to kill him, she was actually starting to warm up to him, so why not fight for a bit of sport? She was sure that no one would notice, especially when they're caught up in their own little fueds. However, just because she wasn't trying to kill him didn't mean she was going to go easy on him.
She flipped her knife to the non-sharp end and gave him a hard strike to the back, one that should either knock him over or at least unbalance him for a moment. Almost as soon as Roxy struck Mia she retreated backwards a few feet. She remained in a slightly offensive posture, smiling at Mia.
[red]"C'mon, it's no fun when you let me know when the attack is coming!"[/red] Her tone of voice was anything but hostile; in fact she was actuallty teasing him a little bit. She wanted to see how good he was, and announcing his attacks wasn't going to help with that.
She knew she was going against orders, but it isn't like she cares or anything.
(OOC: ...I think I made Roxy a little out of character XD I'll try not to let this happen too much~)

Mia was just about to lunge at her once more, reusing the velocity from his first attack, but his actions were halted by her laughter.
He had been serious. A moment shorter and he would’ve persisted in continuously lunging at Roxy until she lost her balance or when he lands a hit, keeping the pressure on the female shape shifter.
She seemed like the easy going type of person.
“You’re nicer than some of the people that I know. “
He retracted the hidden wrist knives, and snatched up the knife from his leg. He reserved the hidden wrist knives only for close range assassinations, not for actual battles. The blades are too weak to withstand a strike of another weapon.
Mia glanced up to see that she wasn’t in her place anymore, but close to his side and aiming for his back. He turned halfway out of habit, the harmless strike hitting his shoulder instead of his back. If the strike was meant to kill, it would’ve just cut his arm instead of his back (which is more vulnerable). But the strike wasn’t, it was just meant to knock him off balance, and this he wasn’t expecting.
Due to the new footing, he tripped over himself and stumbled into the muck, lucky that he didn’t fall shoulder first into it.
He turned to Roxy a moment, blinking. She was definitely the fast type, but how well would she do under pressure? Mia grinned at her tease.
" Aren't we suppose to be serious right now? I mean, it's my first mission on Zukai and I don't think being friendly with the enemy is part of the mission. "
