Races
The Species that make up their world
Humans
The dominant species within the world, humans migrated from other worlds to live in the city. Some come with the intent of making peace, others out of greed, and it's the latter that makes up most of the Lao army.
This species has stolen the heightened technology of their opposition and live in the nicest parts of the city. They are the only species able to pilot Husks, mechanical bodysuits used against the Zukai.
Demons
The indigenous class, these creatures usually resemble humans in some shape or form. However, there are many sub species for this class, ranging from the human like to the more animal like ones.
x.Succubus/Incubus
Crafty demons that use their appearance to get their way. Succubus are the females, Incubus the males. Basically, guys or girls with demon horns, wings and tail that humans from other worlds can't see.
x.Vampire
Not the sparkly kind, these creatures prey upon humans and weaker demons and suck their blood. While they are weakened by sunlight, a Vampire can still travel and fight during the day, just not to the best of their abilities. Vampires are much like shape shifters, being able to take on a single animal form chosen at 'birth'.
x.Shape Shifters
These beings are rather tricky to work with. The weakest of this sub species can take on only one or two forms, while stronger ones can take on up to twenty. They can alter their appearance into several other guises, making them even harder to catch.

x.Spirits
Most often the ghost of a dead animal or human who never rested in peace, these demons can take on a human and two animal forms - one a normal representation of their former self, and another an altered version much stronger and more fierce. Spirits can often channel others to aid them in battle.

x.Elementals
Often human or elven in appearnce, Elementals have control over one of the world's elements; Water, fire, shadow, air, electricity, earth, etc.
This group isn't so much a species as it is just a group of gifted individuals, and a fair few other creatures can learn these skills as well.

x.Puppet Master
These are mostly humans or spirits with a connection to other ghosts around them, able to channel their energy into inanimate objects known simply as Night Puppets. These people are usually unnaturally pale, with bright coloured eyes and tattooed bodies. They're unhealthily thin, all their energy going into their weapons.
Puppet Master's are rather dangerous, their gift in the dark arts making them a vicious foe, nearly as dangerous as their Puppet.
x.Night Puppet
Often in the form of a mannequin or robot, these creatures are the souls of the dead sealed within an unfeeling shell, fighting for their masters in battle. While they have their own personalities, emotions and mind, they have no choice but to live as their creator's weapon until they are willingly set free, where they can choose to live on in their body or return to the spirit world.
x.Angels
The name of the creatures is rather deceiving. Angel means a pure being, right? Someone who died and came back as a winged creature to guide others? Good souls?
This isn't the case with these angels. Sure, some turn out pure enough, others become bitter, twisted creatures with no intent but to kill humans and demons alike. These creatures often believe themselves to be better than the rest, and they will prove it.
x.Infected
Not to be confused with Zombies, these creatures are not undead, mindless flesh eaters. While their cannibalistic nature is still there, their intellect has not yet rotted away, leaving these creatures with their intelligence and personality intact. These creatures seem to share a distinct connection with humans in the way that they want to eat them, however Infected have been seen within Lao's ranks. Their pale flesh, rotten in appearance, is simply to results of a skin disease that most demons and humans are immune to, and not because they died and decomposed. In fact these beings will not ever decompose. It's as if they're still alive.
Except for the fact that, well, they died.
Symptoms of the Infection include constant sickness, weariness, vomiting a dark liquid and aggression. May also include chewing your team mates.
x.Beast Shifters
A very rare, very old species of the world - Beast Shifters are a higher race of shapeshifter that shifts only into 'Tksga Nyzt', creatures native to their world. These are a species restricted to higher ranked members of Lao and Zukai, and there are only very few left in existance. Beast Shifters are not so much a species as it is simply a gift, meaning that these Shifters can be of any other species and still be one.
NOTE- Please PM Arky when it comes to making a Beast Shifter. Only more trusted members will be allowed to make them.
Ranks
The Ranks of Lao and Zukai
Privates
The newest members of the group, these characters don't have any power and must do as they're told. They cannot go off on their own missions until assigned a full rank.
Scouts
Information searchers, often having wings or heightened speed. Scouts are often given risky missions that can result in fights, but due to their abilities are expected to return unscathed. A very risky job in both Lao and Zukai.
Defenders
The people who 'hold down the fort', these creatures have heightened defense and endurance, often training against each other to grow stronger.
Defenders are a base's best form of protection against the enemy.
Medics
Not very many become Medics in either Lao or Zukai, so any with a gift in healing are often thrown straight into the job. This group is vital to both team's survival, without them a war is meaningless.
Medics often have their own private quarters near the medical wing in a base.
Manipulators
These characters are the Elementals with extremely heightened abilities, harnessing control over their chosen element. These people are dangerous and unpredictable, often able to control the world around them to destroy the opponent. Some can even harness time itself, warping it to their advantage. However, such feats of strength require a lot of energy and leave the user weak and defenseless, so Manipulators usually work with other members and not on their own.
Reapers/Troops
Known to the Zukai as Reapers, and to Lao as Troops, this group is made up of the fighters. Their Zukai name is made to mock the Lao people, named Reaper for the way they take human lives.
This group often has some sort of weapon on their person, and has their own quarters in a base away from the other groups.
Officers
The highest rank of troop under the leader themselves, these people often have several subordinates, high ranking members of other groups, to help them on missions. These Officers take orders from the leader and leader alone, dealing out punishment to lower levels and giving them jobs to do.
Uniform
Clothing aspects of Lao and Zukai
Zukai;
The people of Zukai are pretty much allowed to wear whatever they please, as long as it's dark, mysterious and covered in chains and straps and shit.
Oh, and as long as the small orb with the Zukai crest is visible. There must also be some print of the member's number, example; Aiden (67013) has it tattooed on his left arm, Benvolio (70152) has it on a band around his left wrist, and Gami (0913) has it tattooed to the back of his neck.
Lao;
Again, not very strict on appearance, just so long as they aren't confused with Zukai. Their uniform is usually of some base colour with black or white markings. Their crest must be visible on the uniform along with number. It is up to the member where the crest and number are on their person.
Orbs
The one thing that gives Zukai a slight upper hand - the orbs many of them carry. These orbs, marked with the Zukai symbol, are known to keep a part of the owner's soul inside it. With this small part of a person's being, they can regenerate lost limbs or even, to some extent, bring them back to life.
Sadly, the latter is a rather unstable process, and most people don't survive. Even if they do, it's the life of a Night Puppet, their spirit cast into a robot body where they work under another's control. Only the most trusted Zukai are allowed to work with the orbs of fallen comrades, and even then many fail in bringing them back to life, or if they do, most of their memories and personality are gone. They're never quite the same.
Sometimes Lao will come across these orbs and steal them from bodies, 'purifying' them and using them for their own soul capturing.
