APPEARANCE
Caiyra is always, without fail, hidden by her cloak. It is a deep purple colour with a white trim in places and a few black marks, and is her most recognisable feature. Beneath this, however, she is a relatively skinny girl with slightly pale skin and grey, emotionless eyes. Her hair, however, which almost nobody ever sees, is a bright aqua blue, and she usually has it tied into a ponytail for convenience.
Her clothes are relatively simple and vary between days. They tend to be a pair of brown trousers and a cream shirt, accompanied by a black belt. Caiyra doesn’t tend to wear shoes. Her crest and number (#7105) are visible at the base of her cloak, and her number is also tattooed across the upper section of her left arm.
PERSONALITY
To others, Caiyra often comes across as secretive, deceptive and even bossy. She tends not to talk to the other Lao other than to reprimand them or if she absolutely needs something. She spends most of her time either with Dysen or by some source of water, practising her skills. When around her leader, she is often very careful of what she says and how she acts. Over time, she has become slightly more confident whilst in his presence, but sometimes her nerves can still take over.
However, despite her usually quiet nature, Caiyra is quick to pick up on a fight. Be it something said or done, she will usually turn back and have her say in the matter. Rarely does she use her physical strength, purely because of its nature, but she can be harsh with her words. It is rather easy to wind her up and get her frustrated, which some of the more rambunctious members of the Lao seem to excel at.
HISTORY
Caiyra's road to where she is now wasn't exactly smooth sailing. She lived with her family on the borderline of the Lao area, just inside their territory. Her father was an ex-soldier, too wounded to continue to fight, so they had been allowed to live in peace until Caiyra's adopted brother, Lutec, was old enough to join the Lao ranks himself.
Caiyra and her father were very close. They often took a small boat out to the sea and went fishing together, relaxing in the early hours of the morning when things would be biting. But it was on one of these trips that Caiyra's life took a darker turn. The two were happily out on their boat when her father decided it was time to head home - the sky was getting darker, the sign of a storm approaching. Caiyra had other ideas, though, and begged him to stay out a bit longer to try and catch a big fish she'd seen earlier. After a few minutes of their extended time out, the sky was black as coal and the seas were getting rougher. Finally, Caiyra agreed they could go back. But just a few yards into their journey towards home, the rain started falling. The seas were now so rough that the boat swayed from side to side violently, and eventually capsized. Caiyra frantically grabbed hold of the side of the boat, but when the seas eventually calmed, her father didn't surface. With his injuries, the man had not been able to clamber back up, and had drowned. Upset and confused, Caiyra managed to turn the boat the right way up again and slowly sailed her way back to land. She never returned home.
Instead, the girl wandered around the city. She tried to ignore the few Zukai she met until she got back to the Lao-controlled section, but even then, she couldn't face going back to her mother. She continued to wander, staying in whatever hotel she could for the night, until Dysen found her. He allowed her to join the ranks of the Lao army, even though she had no special power or skill. Until one day, the taunting from one of the other Troops riled her so much that she managed to make the water in his body rise up and drown him.
This was when she realised her power.
Since then, the tauntings have dropped considerably (althought some still find it funny to annoy her), and she has spent most of her time dedicated to discovering more about her power over water. She also has a strange closeness towards Dysen, and acts as a right-hand man for him at all times. She is still grateful to him for finding her all those years ago.
ATTRIBUTES
Her element is mainly water, though occasionally it branches into wind when she causes a storm. Caiyra studies her element daily to try and improve herself, but cannot yet produce a city-wide storm, only smaller ones. This is something she is striving to achieve. It is rare for her to use any weapon other than her element, purely because she is not often in battle and does not need to use such items.
Her other main strength is her competent mind. She often finds herself in more of an advising role to Dysen than anything else, updating him on the goings-on within his ranks and any information she has heard on the Zukai.
